Day 5 and while all things must come to an end, I can truly say I have enjoyed dreaming of ways to use my Unity Stamps.  It's amazing how you can do so much with one stamp set.  Variety and versatility is one of the reason why I have been a long standing customer with Unity, I can truly say they design a little something for each and every one of us for just about every occasion, THANK YOU UNITY for this opportunity

One thing I do enjoy about this stamp set you can color or you can paper piece and you can mask...What is masking you ask?  It is a technique where you can stamp the image onto a light weight (copy paper or sticky note) and create magic.  I wanted my Little Ladies to be in a group, so I used a mask to get my images close together without stamping over the image.  If you look at the picture above you will see the mask gets stamped on, not the actual image.

I then did some inking and then used my dies to multi cut the words FROM US and stacked the die cuts to have the wording pop from the card

I truly thank you for stopping by my blog this week and that you have enjoyed my Growing In Unity feature.
Leave a comment, I will be picking from all the guest this week and 2 lucky people will win a prize pack sent to you from Unity Stamp Company

Welcome to day 2 of my Growing In Unity feature.
This little girls was just to cute to not paper piece a cute pattern for her dress and dress up her pigtails with a matching bow.

Having the Brother Scan-N-Cut makes not having a matching die a breeze.  I stamped several images and cut them out with ease.

To paper piece you stamp on your pattern paper and fussy cut it out

I wanted to create a 2 tone background. I used Vintage Photo for the ground

I used Peacock Feathers for the sky

To stamp the wording I used the Misti for perfect placement

Thank you for stopping by.  Leave a comment for your chance to win 1 of 2 prizes.

I am embracing my inner planner and pulling out all the tools to make my creativity tool box.  I know that there are alot of stickers, embellishments etc. that are on the market, but before I buy, buy, buy I am trying to gather my tools and more that I may be able to use for my planner
So far I looked through all my dies and I found over a dozen that are small enough to fit into the page configuration of my Happy Planner
and even better I will be able to add my Sidekick to my tool box, small and effective.

So if you are anything like me the idea of planning kind of overwhelms me.  I for one don't think I have enough going on to document, so until I get the hang of it I want my planner pages to be cute and fun, but would not like to break the bank to get started.  Scour your stash see what you have and come plan with me

I have fought this long enough and I even tried things out with my own DIY Planner, I got past the first month, but then it sat.  I have looked and looked at this planner along with all the bells and whistles, so I knew this had to be the one because I kept picking it up each time I went shopping

Honestly speaking I am happy that I bought this planner and had it over a month to figure things out.  One of the biggest reasons I went with this one was the size of the boxes on the calendar and the option to add without it becoming to bulky.  I have looked at the actual punch that would save me alot of time, but then I looked in my studio and found my Cinch in the corner of the closet.  After playing with the settings, I think I came up with a plan that will work for me...

I purchased this beauty, it took me months to figure the right planner, but this planner makes me HAPPY!!!
Before doing any cutting, I needed to measure the paper and make sure I had the ruler set to the right length so that there was equal spacing edge to edge.  The biggest paper that will fit the planner is 7 x 9.25
The Cinch punches 12 holes with the option to configure how you want the holes to punch your paper
For the 7 x 9.25 paper I adjusted the punch guide to punch holes at 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11 position
Still having space left over to punch I flipped my paper and adjusted my levers yet again
With the paper flush to the left paper guide I punched holes at the 1, 3 and 5 only position, giving me perfect spacing to place my paper evenly in my planner
Because the holes are round and the planner is a disk binding system I needed  to snip with my scissors each hole so that I would be able to put my pages into the planner
I am a little smitten that this worked like a charm

***for smaller inserts you will just need to adjust accordingly between the holes 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11 along with your paper guide on the left***

I love a simple card and I also like when I am able to use multiple stamps...BUT I am lazy

Unity Stamps are cling mounted and come pre-cut on foam so why not use the paper backing as an

I coated the pattern paper with a little Gesso to mute the background paper and then stamped my first image.  Using the mask I then stamped my second stamp

thanks for stopping by

While I am not new to Planners, this year I am actually going to be using my handmade own (cover will be decorated when I come up with the right design).  My planner will be a mish mash of  products that I love and ideas of the simple things that happen in my life
I think what has held me back was feeling limited to a style and not having enough wiggle room to adjust it to what I how I wanted to document my day to day.

Losing my Mother in 2011 to finding love in 2015 my times have for sure changed for the better and I felt inspired this year to create for myself and not just design for my DT duties.  True story no joke, when I first started crafting I invested in the best printer and computer so that I could create my own sayings, tags and anything that words were needed for my crafts, so I knew my planner had to go back to what I felt the most comfortable doing.  I had in my stash a mini 3 ring binder and TONS of document because back when I had to put everything in a document protector.  While in Target I found  the Avery brand monthly/weekly blank calendar pages which was perfect for me because I knew I wanted to start my planner with some highlights for 2015

I found some cute, thin Washi Tape at Hobby Lobby and some Recollections Pens at Micheals, the light blue Washi I am not sure where I got that one from, but it works well for school related items

I think my favorite part of my journal finds are these clearance stickers I found at Michaels by Simple Stories called Life Documented.  I purchased all I could find, but they are just cute and the perfect colors that allow me to mix and match with different papers, tapes, stickers and more that I have in my stash

I purchased a few years back this brand new electronic typewriter for $4.00 at the Thrift Store and I have been dying to use it on something...BINGO, my planner.  This is the first section of the calendars where I'm documenting 2015 happenings and because the sections are small my typewriter is perfect for this girl who tends to write BIG...

Using my Canon wireless printer I printed my Facebook photos out on 4x6 paper.  I went this route because these photos had the write up and date of the event, so I thought it took the guess work out of what I wanted to document for 2015 highlights

I kept everything uniform and mounted the photos onto black paper.  This will be the format throughout my planner.  Here I used my printer and printed it out on copy paper and just mounted it to cardstock

I added a little extra wording about each photo

This is the monthly calendar section, I will document as it happens using my typewriter in conjunction with my own handwriting

Here is my first project of the year for the My Besties company, I am happy that I am able to be a designer for such a great company.  I will continue to add highlights for each month placing the work into a document protector...

I want to thank you for stopping by my blog and hope that you are inspired to create and document in 2016
